CS:Source on 1024x768, medium-high settings, came out 30/40fps average:

Wish BF2 would do the same thing :(

Water looked good, and the terrain was a bit better, but still cardboard buildings and awful people so no point putting it up really:

I have BF2 all on lowest possible, with the distance at 60%. Things do tend to pop-in, but it's not so bad. It's easier to alter the settings in CS after the graphics go wrong - I have to reinstall with BF because it's impossible to navigate, but now I know it's the AA that does it in.

And I still suck at it.

You should be pretty damn pleased with that, set texture filtering to biliner and make sure v-sync is off they will give you a performance boost if they are not set like that already.

i'm sure you could get more out of battlefield too, but the most important thing is the draw distance otherwise you have a serious handcap against everyone with it set higher.

1024x768, high models, high textures, medium/high everything else. The AA really fluffs my system up though, so that was kept low. Why didn't I ever do this before?

Ran at about 40/50 fps with the slight hiccup.

EDIT: compared to: http://www.pocketmonkey.co.uk/images/cs_800x600.jpg

Which is how I used to run it.

That's what I was hoping for. Not sure why I needed to upgrade though, when the 360 is round the corner.

But the oppurtunity was there, and I took it.

I'm a dirty criminal :(

Still YAY though,

The thing about CS to me is that medium-high settings don't look that much difference from low ones. Apart from AA and AF.
