Yeah, wasn't really my sort of thing, but that's how GCSE literature had to go, I guess.
I think one problem people have with it is the way it's written, but that's just how things were written in the Regency era; long, flowing, "classical" sentences were considered to be civilised. And it's amusing to see 'etc' spelt as '&c', as it was assumed people actually knew what et cetera meant back then.
It must have had a bit of an odd impact on me, I've said nothing about the storyline...

Pride & Prejudice is like one of my all-time favorite literary pieces. I've also seen all the different film renditions as well. Come to think of it, I've seen and read all of Jane Austen's works. :) Good stuff.
I've read it and Emma for GCSE English Lit. At first I just didn't get it and going over it again and again didn't help the enjoyment of it, but I thought it wasn't too bad and though I won't admit it to any of my mates I did end up enjoying it.
