Report on yahoo news which basically says that Shadow Health Secretary has come out and said that fat people need to stop making excuses (either themselves or for them by other people) and lose weight.

Is this fair? If someone is happy being fat, should they be actively encouraged to lose weight? Being fat can bring health issues, as we all know, so even if someone is happy & healthy now, but large, is there a way of forcing them to lose weight? If there is, should it be done?

Personally, I don't generally see many happy fat people. What I do see, in the town where I live, is a definite increase in their numbers. Sorry, I know that last setence makes me sound like some kind of sizest, but there we go.

Fat children - is it their fault? Probably not, at 5, 6 years of age etc, you eat whatever your parents give you to eat. Is there an excuse for not eating healthily? I can only think of one - laziness.

Discuss.

If you’re selective in the supermarket then they can be as competitive as the butcher or local market.

I can see supporting the little man, but the big companies package goods in plastic, to avoid damage. I find it more vulgar to throw away damaged food, than to wrap everything in cellophane. The argument is almost as week as those people who have an issue with bottled water. Are they trying to increase the Coca-colas company's market share?

Go to the local Asda, co-op, spar then cost cutter etc (decreasing with obscurity).

Ps: This is just an attempt to inject some life into this thread, after Grix’s conversation killer, which was equivalent to getting your unmentionables out at a social gathering and playing with them.

Ooh I'll answer them too

1) I've not had a poo in a few days but then that's not technically me. Is it? Anyway, as far as I'm aware I'm quite full of me, it all appears to be me, but yes I have to discount food and water. Should I? God I dunno. I suppose it becomes me. I suppose in that logic I should be technically full of poo, which means you can't trust anything I say.

2) An incredible amount. The problem is I use it to focus on things that probably shouldn't need my attention. But it's fun, and somehow it's giving me a very twisted version of 'a direction' in life.

3) Not very at all. I just thought it'd be a nice non-serious one. I certainly wouldn't mind it but I definitely don't need it.

4) Well, my job now is good. I have a project for Wednesday that I'm currently preparing for. Otherwise I could study Biology, or sort my furniture out a bit more to give myself some room. Also I should probably put more effort into sorting out my sleeping pattern now I'm falling asleep more easily.

5) YH and Nin might have, and -maybe- whoever awarded me the GAD. Cheers!
