We got one for Christmas last year and it cost about £80 - you have to look how much peoples presents to you cost don't you? :)
I think we bought a DVD Recorder years ago from a supermarket, cost about £100 and does us well but it's starting to get faulty now so I'll need to help find a new one. Though I suggested one of those HDD machines, that allows you to record 2 channels at once.
Ingoldmells market is a good place for cheap stuff as well.

hm. DVD recorder would be nice. Tesco have them for £70. Perhaps if I get double points again at some point I may buy one...
