I mean....sure sand is decently nice to look at-- but that's just because we associate it with beautiful oceans or other bodies of water. In itself it is no great thing to look at-- I mean, if a really nicely kept layer of grass ran up to the water line it'd be just as nice too look at, and the grass wouldn't get in between your toes, in your eyes, in your pockets.
I don't see any positive aspect of sand that could possibly outweigh the negative effects. For that reason alone sand really jerks me off.
