I agree.. To become a regular you shuld have to walk over coals and stuff
I became a regular in about 25 days :)
You should have to post like, 750 posts.

...and if you up the word count requirement, you temporarily deal with the spamming, but in the long-term increase idiotic types copying stuff and posting it as their own.

To become a Regular you should have to post 2000 words and 1000 posts.

If you increase the amount of post someone has to make before becoming a regular then you are going to get lots of idiot spamming n00bs becoming regulars, whereas decent newbies who deservw to become regulars will stay newbie for a lot longer.
You could up the word count though. I reaced the word count limit al long time before I reached the post limit. I wonder if spammers would though.

How about SR having a "Mark as Spam" next to the "Report Post" button, so if a post is blatantly spam, and it gets 5 seperate clicks from 5 seperate users, it's not tallied on the persons wordcount?
