Probably because it's hideous.

It aint coming out now!
It was mentioned by Reggie that a redesign of the system is in the works.
What this usually means is that the progress of technology allows them to redesign the system smaller, make it look more stylish, they have a few new ideas to implement, and most importantly, can make the battery last longer.
Helping sales and keeping the system up to date without forcing anyone who already has one to get another.
I imagine we'll see it at E3 and maybe come out next christmas... or maybe a little later.

i could say that about the Micro! I can understand the SP, but the SP renderred the original GBA pointless. The Micro though ... it's another GBA when the DS and the SP are already out. What's the point?

Surely everyone is cheesed off with the fact that anything you buy these days is obsolete within 6 months of buying it!
What's the point? Fashion accessory and of course a shrink in size.
It is pretty much a special edition GBA.
