Which would you rather be?

Well, if you're famous aren't you pretty much rich anyway?

i'd rather be rich because you can do what you like with the money. If your famous your in the public eye and have to conduct yourself in a way so not to offend the public virtually all of whom you've never met and don't know but still you have to make sure you don't offend them. Now i couldn't do that. I'd much rather spend my money how i want to then have my spending habits dictated by the public. Like for instance if i wanted to i couldn't go into a lapdance bar if i was famous otherwise it'd be on front page being slagged off for enjoying myself

I'd rather be rich. Fame never really appealed to me. I'm a private person so I'd probably have a breakdown if I was famous...

Riches are nothing unless you do something worthwhile with them. Being famous effectively means you can sell stuff like stories to magazines/papers/TV shows and get money, thus making you famous. As people have said, when you have one you can effectively exploit it to gain the other. I have no use for fame... So money I guess, but if I had a lot of money I wouldn't just buy lots of stuff I want, I'd try doing stuff with it, opening a cool little CD store maybe or a little venue for bands to play...

exploitation of fame leads to riches, while wise use of riches leads to fame.

If you have one, you can have the other.

Give me either, and I'll take both.
