Maybe with more PC's and consoles turning to DVD, they could create demo's in this format and besides the 1 or 2 levels to try out you could have extra options such as a magazine interview with the creator, maybe pics and short movies of the game, etc.
Kind of like "the making of.." but for a game instead of a film.
Its also interesting stuff to have for any people who want to work in the games industry creating games. They would be learning things from it in how characters and levels are designed, etc.
Movies on the disk could show not just clips of the game being played, but also cover things like landscapes so the players can really admire the detail that has gone into the game.
Overall, it should be set out like a DVD film too with the list of options to choose from, rather than all the mess to search through when opening a CD-ROM demo.
It would just be a much more nice and better presented way of companies giving players a taste of an upcoming game - especially the big releases.
