Good news for all you classic film lovers, I just looked in the new tv mag and saw that John Carpenters classic 1976 thriller Assault on Precinct 13 is on.
A loose remake of Rio Bravo, a gang of urban guerillas want revenge on a man who killed one of their own. But this man fleas to a near deserted police station that is about to be decomissioned and has no phone system. What follows is an eerie and tense thriller as the criminals surround and attack the station, which is inhabitied by one cop, a couple of office workers and some prisoners. It is up to those few good guys, aided by the prisoners to defend the man and the police station, whilst trying to stay alive.
I highly recommend you watch it :)

I got hooked on John Carpenter after watching Escape from new york. Assault on precinct 13 is not in my view one of his finest, but reasonably entertaining. My favourite film of his was his horror masterpiece The Thing.
I've got this on DVD, it's a good film.
John Carpenter tended to rule during the 80's with Escape From New York, The Thing and even Big Trouble in Little China.

It's hilariously funny. I've seen it before but I'll watch it again.
Just look out for the scene where the convict guy asks for a a cigarette and match. It's so funny!
