Hey guys. I wonder if someone could advise on an issue I'm having.
I have a simple calendar script that reads a flat txt file containing the dates/events, this txt file is located in the cgi-bin, that is fine and works a treat.
However, I need the script to write to the txt file as an admin adds dates, am I right in saying that within the cgi-bin this is not possible ?

Tricky to say from where I'm sitting.
I take it you've played around with CHMOD/permissions?

I have yes. the txt file is currently 770 and in cgi-bin folder.
Strange thing is, this is a VIP+ hosted account, now the script requires the absolute path to the txt file. So if I set the path as /httpd/ the script wont read the file ?

Have you tested with 777 ?

If you get stuck then it might be worth raising a support ticket as staffies will see the complete picture.

Yes the path will be critical whether using standard or VIP hosting.
Remember to let people know how you get on.
