A friend of mine that uses Freeola has asked me to look at a problem when they're trying to update or even access the wordpress update page.

I can replicate this every time and the only error in error.log is: -

Premature end of script headers: update-core.php

Just to be clear, I took a copy of the site, SQL included and powered the site up locally using vagrant and the update pages work fine, so there is NOTHING wrong with the current WP installation.

I then get redirected to the Freeola error page and thats it! The problem is I cannot even perform a manual upgrade on this installation as I cannot disable the plugins. When I try and access the plugins page in wp-admin I get the following in error.log: -

Premature end of script headers: plugins.php

Please HELP. The end client is busting to upgrade and I am reticent to even try considering the errors above.

Any ideas?

You'll need to provide information as to the actual site, and I'd suggest doing that via a support ticket, as we should be able to help establish where the issue might be.
