Ingredients:
Simple Idea
Tiny Wings
Limbo
Super Meat Boy
Method:
1) Open the Simple Idea and allow it to breath and mature. While this is happening it is important to leave the Simple Idea alone. Do not play or tinker with the idea as it will spoil and your recipe will be ruined.
2) Take the unadulterated controls of a game like Tiny Wings and apply generously to the Simple Idea. Do not faff about with Up, Down, Left & Right. The screen will scroll automatically as you control your characters altitude by touching the screen.
3) Now add to the mixture the ambience of Limbo. This will darken the Simple Idea but do not panic as you will find you settle to the new visuals quite quickly. You will notice that the background textures remain quite light and quirky, which contrast very nicely with the foreground silhouettes.
4) Finally extract the MSG-like addictive elements from Super Meat Boy and carefully stir though. The immediate restarts when you die (and you will die) will mean you always want one more go… one more go… one more go…
5) Serve on a platter for the bargain price of 69p.
Footnote: This is an insanely brilliant game. The idea is so simple and very nearly perfectly executed. It has the appeal of a game you can pick up and play for 1 minute or 1 hour. It's bloody addictive and an absolute bargain.
