Most people own consoles for the life of the machine, buying what, 5 or 6+ games a year?, making 25-30 games or more in total. Prices for the games are similar for all systems, so what does your initial saving of £135 get you? Not much - just 3 extra games that you wouldn't have been able to get if you got an XBox on a fixed budget. To me this is totally insignificant, and hence price is simply not a factor in buying a Gamecube.
I'd get one even if it was £300, because I am getting one for certain games that I know won't be on any other systems. Unfortunately, Nintendo know that if they did sell if for more than say £250, it wouldn't do half as well as it will at £165. It's a shame they need to sell it on price and not on the actual hardware and games alone...

LOL!!!! Ha Ha!! PS2, better than Gamecube?!! Yeah right, OK. How is that so? Just cos' it plays DVDs (and not that well either).
If someone were to ask me which two consoles they should get, I have no hesitation is recommending XBox and Gamecube. PS2 is just not worth considering - it is ancient technology.
XBox plays DVDs better than PS2, is getting all the top games that the PS2 it getting, and more.
Xbox and Gamecube have got two very different strategies and that is why they compliment each other so well. PS2 is lurking in the middle, not knowing what to do, apart from churn out loads of sub-standard jaggy games.
Don't get me wrong, I have a PS2 as well, but there comes a time when you have to admit that it isn't the beast that it once was.
also i believe the xbox is better and i hope it does better than it is at the mo. billy deserves a little success with he new investment.
also i just been over to a mates and he has a xbox and was going on about the specs he said "it has a built in hard drive" and by then i was getting fed up so i said "i bet you don`t know what it does" he replied "yes i do it makes the graphics better" so maybe when he understands it better i will take his veiw in to account.
oh and if bill gates is listening "GET A BETTER CONTROLLER"
it fits in your hand like to put a ps2 game in your cube. and also "START USING THE DAMN SPECS AS THEY ARE SO GOOD"
i can`t really see any big improvment from the other consles.
It's also true about XBox not being that much better than the other consoles. Sure, the gfx are nice, but I don't miss it after I had to take it back for a refund. I'm really looking forward to the Gamecube because it is cheaper, is getting some great games, and more than that, it is getting Nintendo games!! :o)
