I heard the verticle position may not be good for your PS 2 in the long term but ive not heard that it creates scratches, but I keep mine horizontal to avoid all that mis-hap.

Im too scared that ill knock my PS2 over if its placed vertical so i never have it like that.

Its a big drop from the cupboard to the floor. :D

i heard it can scratch the discs if you fail to put them in that groove properly
