The PSOne is a weird concept...

Why would a company, who are on the brink of releasing a new piece of hardware, would feel it necessary to re-release their old machine?

If they feel that the sales of the first Playstation still haven't stagnated, and the release of a new machine would stun the sales of the old one, they should wait...

I work at an electronics store here in Denmark. We recently recieved 100 of these "new" machines, and they where gone in 6 hours. Why?

Because the Playstation is still very much alive and kicking. However, it is no longer the most powerfull machine available. Therefore the release of the PS2 is a necessity. Thanks to Sega...

And the PSOne is the last attempt at squeezing a few extra £££'s out of the old machine. Granted it doesn't look the same...

Excellent marketing-strategy though.

I think it is pretty damn cool. I wanna get one, but there is not much point as I have a PS2 on order.
