Why does anyone never seem to spend much time in FOG Prime?
Anytime I want to talk about games there hardly seems to be anyone in there. This forum is fine for menial things but FOG prime was created so we could escape the dross and talk games.

So what about it?

I only ever go in there to go on the worlds longest thread.

Prime is all about games...I don't even play games anymore, so theres no reason to go in there.

Life is the best forum, if you ignore all the football posts.

The problem seems to be that most people go straight to Chat as a default. There are interesting posts in the other forums, but they tend to get ignored. As a relative newcomer I've only just found this out myself: but now that I know there are some interesting discussions going on in 'Life...', I'll be going there much more regularly. I read most of the posts in Prime, and respond if I think I've got something worth saying. But it is quite po-faced in there sometimes.

Of course newbies have it worse: they can't post in prime, and if they have something sensible to say (doesn't happen often, I admit!) it tends to tumble down the list in Chat. But the system does work for the regulars: some of your posts have got a decent amount of replies, and good quality ones at that. Prime topics probably need more time to be digested, anyway, so maybe we should just accept that discussion is going to be smaller, slower but more focused.

The problem with Prime, is that people take it too seriously, and there's too much of what we've said before in the same way.

I tried to write two posts on the same subject, from completely different view points, and I got accused of being a sychophant in one, and being jealous of the system in another.

When people do write something funny, or an original take on an old subject, all to often it doesn't get seen, becasue people seem to have lost a little faith in it, and in the end people think "Sod it, I'll post it on chat, more people will respond to it".

Way of the world I guess. Maybe we should post Prime worthy topics on Prime, and in other forums TOO if we want lots of people to see them? There sure are some good topics in all of the individual console forums, maybe the writers of these should consider 'porting' them to prime too?
