"You can't say anything until it's all over...."

I've just read the most of the messages and I've noticed that most people are quoting things like, "The cube is gonna be the best" or "Xbox is crap." Can I just remind everyone that you can't say anything about consoles going to be crap or amazing until they have been out for long enough. I remember everyone saying how the N64 is going to be amazing and will be the best console ever. Was it!?! Although there were some very good games on it, the amount of games that came out compared to other consoles was tiny and the life of the 64 was very short. People are STILL developing for the PS1. You have got to wait until all 3 consoles have been out long enough or even wait until they are all dead before saying how amazing they were and what was the best. The N64 seemed to have some amazing launch titles and a few 'hot prospects' for the future but after that, the amount of games that really stood out were very few.
All I'm saying is that you don't count your chickens before they hatch...
P.S I think thats the saying, or is it don't count your eggs?
