BitTorrent... It never wants to speed up.
Now I'm downloading at 160kb/s AND I have a 128k radio stream running. This connection is....
So here I am downloading what is apparently Civ 4 at 2kb/s.
Occasionally it goes up to 50 for about 10 minutes.
I think that's more the effect of running BitTorrent through a firewall rather than the actual connection's fault.

Well, if I'm paying £22.99 a month that comes to a total of £275.88 a year, which is actually a surprisingly large amount.
Then again, we only have Freeview tv and I don't own Xbox live, so it really is one of those rare audio-visual indulgences, like a good porn film.
I assume you're wiring yourself up at Uni, luckily, for the next few years my Broadband's cruising on my parent's cashflow ;-)

If I'd gone with a 2mb I'd be paying £250 and I'd still have a crap speed because it's obvious their network/ISP is screwed up.
I tried it a few days ago at about 8AM and I had more like a 1mb downstream AND upstream. Which is silly because really they should limit me to 512k...
