Today Nintendo revealed the specs and price, as well as the release date for the Japanese launch of the Wii U. At 3pm the western launch will be revealed.

Japan: December 8th
Europe: 30th November
US: November 18th

Price (approx until Euro/US announcement)
8GB = ¥26,250/£210
32Gb Premium = ¥31,500/£250

No official UK prices yet, but Gamestation has the premium down for £250 and Amazon have £199 for the basic version.
In the US the Wii U consoles will cost $299.99 (£186) and $349.99 (£217)

Spec
Package includes 1 tablet controller and console, AC adaptor and HDMI cable.

Premium also includes stand, charger for the controller and Nintendo Network Premium scheme which gives 10% off online purchases.

In the UK and Europe, Wii U Premium pack will come with Nintendo Land.

Updated the launch and post-launch games list.

Pre-ordered a Premium edition at Gamestation and now on a mission to save the trade-in amount before the end of November.

I'm going to pre-order in Gamestation and build up credit until the release date by getting through as many games as I can and trading in.

Probably won't trade in the Wii yet as you can transfer all the Wii Ware and VC stuff and may need the old console to do that.
