Yet again sung to the tune of I will survive....

First I wanted GAD
Yes I really tried
Kept thinking I could write a post
And win without a fight
But I spent so many nights
Writing posts so long
Oh so long
I learned I had written wrong..

and so I’m back
With a new post
I just posted this new topic
All about a piece of toast,
I should have turned off my caps lock
I should have pressed another key
If I had known for just one second
Snuggly read the posts by me.

Go on now read, read posts from me
just written down now
Not just written out of greed
weren't you the one said winning wasn’t fair?
you think I’d win now,
you think that now I’d really care?
Oh no, not I
I will survive
as long as I get joy from posts
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my games to play
I've got reviews to write today
and I'll survive
I will survive

It took all the strength I had
not to blow my top
kept trying not to write
The topic saying GAD should stop
and I spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for myself
I used to spam
Now I write because I can..

and you see me
somebody glad
I'm not that spamming little newbie
still in love with GAD
and so I stopped the console wars
and I stopped the posts for greed
now I'm saving all my posting
for someone who will read

That was quite good pb! :D

The song is about newbies in general. They mostly come on thinking about winning GAD and then after a while they start complaining that they don't win. The song suggests that you should not post to win, but just out of enjoyment.

I knew I'd have to end up explaining it. Sheesh!

I didn't win for about 250 days. Then I won twice (still not quite 26, or whatever).

I don't come here for GAD, its just a bonus.

I know what you mean pb.

Even though I've only won 2 GADs I am always telling people not to focus on the actual GAD win, just to enjoy themselves posting.

To be honest, I accepted I was rubbish at writing when I first joined, so if I did win GAD, it would be a handy bonus. I don't posts thinking 'Hmmm, GAD', I think 'wonder what other people think about these ideas?'

Nice post pb, even though it does point the finger slightly ;) When I first came here, I posed a very short piece on Resident Evil, it was about 10 lines long, and I was holding out for a GAD!? Can you belive it? lol
