I'm no scientist, but my basic understanding is that being able to examine these particles and how they then go on to create other larger Boson particles will provide a new understanding of physics and the structure of the universe.
It may even destroy some of the current understanding of physics or turn it on its head and move science closer to a better understanding and control of the building blocks of particles which, in turn, may lead to new discoveries and inventions that can benefit humankind.
So, what does everyone else think about this discovery? Was it worth the billions spent on the equipment and staff and what do you hope to see from the results of this experiment?
