Any disperssions about the aesthetic nature of Link and his world are soon cast aside because it looks stunning. Like a cartoon in fact. "So did Jet Set Radio I hear you say". Yes, but not like this. This feels like a cartoon. More importantly, it feels like a Zelda game.
Link's facial expressions look impressive. His eyes look shocked when you catapult yourself into a wall and the surrounding shelves shake and fall away. His eyes remain transfixed on a target as your circle your adversary. It. Looks. Amazing!
My initial quest saw me wandering the village and talking to the locals (not that I could understand a word they were saying). Acquired a telescope, the trademark Link-costume and I helped a lady retrieve 2 of her pigs, which I was rewarded with 40 rupees (20 for each of them) and I have yet to begin the main-quest yet.
The sound. Oh yes, the sound. It's classic Zelda. Where by, some of the tracks on display here are remixed Zelda-tunes of old that still sound as good as they did back then.
I'm off to play some more.
Game of the Year 2003? I don't think there will be any arguments IMO.
