My motherboard only holds 1024mb... so want to upgrade it to that..
The memory is DDR 2 and dimm 533hz

and scan your pc/laptop, it will scan your motherboard and tell you which RAM to buy and which is compatible with your pc/laptop, you cant jst buy RAM and expect it to work, your pc may reject it, so its imprtant to run this scan so you dont end up wating your money.
Take the access panel off and you will find it's probably got 2 slots both populated with 2 X 256MB.
It will take a Gig as in 2 X 512MB by taking out your existing memory and replacing it. You can sell what you take out on eBay.

Most machines will take up to at least 4GB of DDR.
