It's not just about the graphics, it's about the gameplay and the enjoyment you get out of the games.

Not a very original topic.
Anyway, I have a PS2 but have played both the GC and the Xbox. The Xbox is a massive size, with (in my opinion) an awkward controller, but the graphics are absolutely fantastic, the bset on any consloe. The GC is a nice, small portable machine, it has a cool light on the front and the controller is an excellent piece of engineering, but the games, while some are quite good, are in most cases lacking quite a bit. It must be realized however that it hasn't been on the market for as long as the PS2 so less games are available. The same goes for the Xbox. The PS2 has an enormous selection of games and the controller, while not as good as the GC's, is still pretty good and does the job well. The graphics are quite good as well, but not as near as good as the Xbox. Overall, I would say the GC and the PS2 would come a very near joint first, with the Xbox coming up last, however it is still a good console.

I think the one with the controller, with the button on the front of it. Yup. That's me, guy with the favourite console that is the one with the controller with the button on the front. Yup.

a lot people buy the console on image. This is key today. A product can be very good, but if it doesn't look right - then people could well choose another product, even though that might not be so technically advanced, etc. ie, people pay a lot more attention to things like the colour or style of a car today compared with years ago.
