Just wondering if anyone with a clue about modchips could possibly tell me which chip is better out of the DMS3 or the Messiah 2?

Neither - too risky.
Get a boot disc and flip-top case, much safer and probably cheaper.

Look at the thread entitled 'boot disc' for the info, it's much better than a mod chip.
