I had a go at thinking up a new Simspons game. Here’s what I came up with…

FLANDERS GC

This would be a mix of a shoot-diddly-oot ‘em up and a platformerola. Faith in God is at an all-time low so it’s up to you, as Ned Flanders, to wander through various parts of Springfield and completing your objectives. Objectives could be to convert a certain person or a set number of people. The objectives can be achieved by using a variety of people-converting weapons, including the holy water hose and hymnbook launcher. You would choose to have the view either first or third person, but you would need to use third-person when jumping to reach different areas.
At certain points, the devil will appear, tempting you to do something that, though it would be entertaining, it wouldn’t be the sort of thing Ned Flanders would do. The more temptations you give into, the nearer you are to becoming evil. Once you have become evil, your objectives change. Rather than converting certain people or certain amounts of people, you would have to put them off God.
At the end of each level, you would have to fight a boss. The bosses would be the various superstars of Springfield but depending on how you play would depend on the final boss. If you are good, you fight your archenemy, Homer Simpson. If you are evil, you fight God. The end sequence depends on whom you fight.
Obviously, there would be a multiplayer deathmatch, with each of the single player levels as arenas, and the option to include another twelve bots. Players would be able to customise their player using various features from different Springfield characters in order to create their own character. The features that could be changed would include, eyes, hair, face shape, build, costume, etc. Players’ characters would increase in experience the more they are used, a la Perfect Dark, and people could even scan their face in using the Game Boy Camera and convert it to Simpsons-style rendering.
The visual engine would be the same as The Simpsons Road Rage, and cut-scenes would use the in-game graphics. The music would be lifted straight from various episodes of the cartoon series. Cheats could be obtained by completing certain areas in a set time and would include All Guns, Infinite Ammo, Invincibility, etc.

Pretty good, eh?
