Question for all people who have already updated their iPod Touch to iOS 4.3.

Will updating my iPod Touch to iOS 4.3 delete anything?

You have to be very sure about your answer because I have app and game data stored on my iPod Touch that I really do not want deleted.

Any help greatly appreciated, thank you :)

You don't need to respond to this thread anymore, I updated my iPod Touch to iOS 4.3 today and nothing was gone (that I know of). Either the apple support page was right when they said updating does not affect user data on the iPod or it was because I backed up the data on my iPod. Either way, I am now running iPod Touch iOS 4.3 and I got to download the music making app I wanted to download (called BeatLab) that required an iOS 4.3 update.

How exactly do I do this?

According to the Apple iPod Touch help and support site (and I think the user guide, too) backing up does not back up your app data.

You need to ensure that you've backed up the system fully first. In fact, if you do try to update before making a backup (by syncing) it will ask you if you want to continue.

The backup will then be used to sync the iPod back again after the update has finished, including your save data.

There used to be a problem with Angry Birds not keeping the save data after an update, but seems to have been fine for the last few system updates I've done.

As far as I'm aware, updating the software on an iPod doesn't delete anything from the storage. Apple would be foolish to release something that wipes your memory.
