I wanted to pop it and shout "less then a fortnight to go!"
Getting twitchy now.
I'm looking at playing some old games though and, of course, I'm still logging into WoW everyday - even if it's only for 30 mins :)
Nin - don't blame you for looking for a new place simply to play FF (or at the very least some other online game :D)
Oh and if anyone is interested I do have a first come, first served offer for you guys. I have an invite for the 30 days free trial for a friend. I would need, however, to send my game disk to whomever and be trusting enough to get it back.
I will never use it otherwise.
Maybe I should change my username to billynomates :D
You see, I'd love to give this game a quick try, but it probably would be just that, a quick try. There's a few games coming out in the next couple of months that will probably take up any gaming time I can afford.
Slightly different note, but did you ever try Aion?
At least it should please Nin :)
Hopefully improvements will be made. More importantly, I need to find somewhere to live that's going to allow me internet access.
Yes, I'm serious. I'm looking for a new place to live because I want to play FF online.
I will never use it otherwise.
Maybe I should change my username to billynomates :D
> I must also know the answer to Warhunt's question!
Lol sorry. I was working on it this morning but kept being sidetracked by "work" work :)
My biggest bugbear is the camera. It doesn't move around with you. I face the way I wish to go, move the camera behind me and set off running. So I'm running along, watching my tail, and run into a cliff. If I turn the char 180 degrees and start running again I am running towards the camera and CAN'T SEE WHERE I'M GOING!!!!!!!! Someone recommended that I move in 1st person view which did make it better but is nowhere near ideal as I like to see 360 degrees.
As for crafting. There are people synthing away all around me, collecting mats etc but I've not found any NPCs to teach me a craft yet even though I picked up some gathering guildleves (their equivalent atm of VoWs quests) I've no idea how to do anything. The FFXIV lodestone (official guide forum) doesn't seem to help. Oh, aye, it lists receipes but doesn't tell you how to start a craft specialisation.
I haven't even tried the friends list or the linkshells yet but a couple of ppl were discussing it last night and struggling with it even though they were familiar with the concept because they'd played FFVI.
The graphics are okay I guess. Not seen anything yet that made me stop and admire it, so nothing spectacular.
Even though the servers are getting congested as everyone logs in at the same time I suffer no lag but the loading screens for interaction between some NPCs for cut scenes take an age to load atm.
Even the opening scene is a stuggle. I won't describe it to stop anything being ruined but you stand there going "and...?". Click on something interactive and then stand there going "and...?" You have to click on it a second time to start moving forward. Not obvious and proved frustrating to get into - even though I'm familiar with playing in this environment. You can't jump easily into the game and in doesn't lead you naturally into starting to play.
I'll struggle on for a while...
At least it should please Nin :)
