Wondered if anyone else had tryed the demo and what your thoughts on it were? Personally, it feels abit like GTA to me. Although I enjoyed how you could die extremely easily, as I don't like these games were just because you're the main character, you can take more bullets than everyone else. I won't be buying it, not until it's come way down in price (I predict it will seeing as there doesn't seem to be much hype surrounding it's release).

I played it for a total of just under 12 hours, and that was on the most difficult setting.

Finished this now. First and foremost, if you want a free-roamer, don't get this, the free-roam is actually a very clever illusion (will explain more in my proper review).
But it is still one of the most enjoyable games I've played this year, gunfights are brilliant, good, if typical storyline and one of the catchiest soundtracks I've heard in a game for a while (I was surprised too)

I don't understand all the negative reviews this has been getting, I'm really enjoying it. Played it most of last night and today. I would certainly recommend this and will put up a review once I've finished the game.
Please do write a review on it TG, it's probably the dodgiest game to call this year. I've got it down for a major flop currently, but hopefully the full game will be better than the demo I played, and much better than the reviews it's currently recieving.
I got Mafia 2 yesterday and eventually got round to playing it today. So far, first impressions are good, I'm really enjoying it.
It's certainly not trying to imitate GTA, the realism is brilliant for starters, like having to use lock-picks to nick cars, cops chasing you for speeding, and having to be really careful, because if you take just few shots, you're down, so you have to be really careful (although admitadly I am playing on the hardest setting).
Will give a better opinion when I've played it more, and may make this my first review for this site.

Alot of the reviews seem to point out how the game is trying to imitate the classic mafia films. The typical 'mafia' storyline looks like it's killed the game off. Would like to ask though; how can you make a Mafia game without it being somewhat similar to the mafia stories we've already heard? That's what the mafia is. Certainly won't be buying after the amount of reviews I've checked though.
Looking forward to LA Noire more myself... think I'll wait for that to come out.
I've been waiting for this for a while now and will get it on Saturday. Seems to be getting okish reviews but I think it's the sort of game I'll enjoy.
