A cute cartoon tell the story; the birds have their eggs stolen by greedy pigs and it's up to you to help get them back. This neat little prologue sets up the game nicely and starts you off on the road to feathered vengeance. How? Well, by launching your birds via a catapult in to the pigs lair of course (how else?!).
Cue a cannon style game where you need to adjust the trajectory and power of the catapult to hit the structure just right and squash the pigs. Variety and strategy are handled by the type of bird you get to use; some split in to 3 when touched, some go super fast and others are just powerful.
Since I wrote the first review of this game (it appeared in my top 10 iphone games which you can find on the Freeola Review page) several further updates have been made available. A Golden Egg mode was added a while ago which allows you to find golden eggs throughout the original levels, it will open a brand new level in the Golden Egg section to play though.giving you replay value for the levels you’ve already completed. Now even more golden eggs are available with the latest update.
Another new set of levels have also become available in the main game, lengthening an already packed story mode for the money and feeling just as good as the original set of levels. What's more, there are placemarkers set for even more levels which should be coming soon. This is possibly one of the most updated games on the store, amazing considering the small cost of the game.
It's a re-occurring entry on the top ten, always being updated with new levels and has a cute sense of humour. Without a doubt, Angry Birds is recommended as one of the best apps on the store.
