Crackdown however is a little different.
Set in the future you are a special agent with some rather special powers, collecting 'obs' located throughout the vast map you can increase your abilities in various skills such as agility, strength, driving etc.
Increasing these allow you to leap 20feet+ in the air and pick up objects such as cars etc to lob at the enemy in a rather hilarious fashion.
In terms of graphics crackdown is a bit of a strange one. The buildings, vehicles and general appearance looks fantastic in high definition and looking around you can see for miles without anything suddenly appearing or things juddering. Your character however is more of a cel shadded style of graphics which looks a bit out of place at first but you'll soon get used to it.
Explosions in this game truely are fantastic. Get a bunch of cars, lob a few grenades and watch the fireworks as cars fly through the air bursting with flames.
In terms of missions the game is rather simple. You need to take out enemy genrals from three different gangs - then kill the enemy leaders to take down that gang. Each general and leader will be at a specific location so using your super abilities you must get in - kill the enemies and kill the general and then move onto the next one.
The single player is fun but invite a friend for some co-op and the fun multiplies a lot more as you leap around the map causing mayhem to the enemy gangs.
I found the game getting a bit too repetitive, going after general after general doing the same kind of thing gets annoying towards the end and it almost feels like your just finishing the game to get it over with.
The co-op mode is a good laugh though so if you have friends with the game you'll probably enjoy it a lot more.
That being said, roaming around the map leaping from building to building and collecting orbs and shooting anyone can be a good laugh too.
Definately worth a rental! The lack of any real online multiplayer though means if you really want it maybe it's worth waiting for it to drop in price first.
