Can someone please tell me how you open the first door in the Shell 1 Core when you are dressed as a baddie ?

Is it the one for the lift? If not every other door on that level requires a key card which is obtained at set point during the game. If you press start it should highlight the shell which you need to go towards next. If you search the shell you will find the card. However I think you are actually talking about the lift which is the retinal scanner bit. You need to grab a guard without killing or knocking him out and drag him towards the scanner. Once there it will go to a cut scene which should open the door.
