As I choose to stay away from it and its unforgiving glare.
I prefer to hide away in the dull and dark and gloom,
Hiding where the light can’t get to me in the safety of my room.
“Oh my!” you cry, “such nonsense you do speak!
Anyone who despises light surely is a freak.”
And alas my friend, that may be so,
For why should I turn from the warm and golden glow?
It gives us life and the power to see,
So surely I should be thankful for all eternity?
But no, I’m afraid it’s just not my thing
The brightness, it burns, and the heat, it stings,
So I’ll continue to avoid the Sun and its blazing hellish fire
And in the shadows, away from it all, is where I shall retire.
