Let's just say I know someone who is fenitly involved with the production.final release of Halo2, and the latest word within Bungie is that It wouldn't be out before Q4 2004.

Oh well. Plenty of FPS action before then. :)

Accourding to when they said it would be made they said it would be released about 2 months ago... not 12 months more!

They've probably seen all the stuff in Doom 3 and Half-life 2 and have gone to implement elements they like from both games.

Anyone share my opinion that the Halo E3 demo won't actually be in the finished game ? Think about what you see and, graphics aside, it makes for a pretty crap level really, it just wouldn't work. Why ?

*Only one, narrow, path through the whole level.
*Master Chief HAS to jump on the Warthog when it skids to a halt.
*Master Chief HAS to jump on the ghost, otherwise he cannot lead the phantoms away and the cutscene, running up to the end of the demo, wouldn't make sense.

I think it's more of a "jeepers, we better show them something" demo than a "this is finished and the actual game" demo...

Unless Master Chief doesn't have to do those things and the squad/marine A.I. is actually like the A.I. in Half-Life 2.

The first level of Halo was quite a linear thing, with some set pieces, so I wouldn't rule it out.

Has anyone been on the bungie site? It's gotsome cool stuff on there. I paticulary like the cockups on the sound.
