According to a recent interview in Weekly Famitsu with the creator of the Resident Evil series, Shinji Mikami, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil Code: Veronica for the GameCube will be ports, rather than remakes, as reported earlier. However, the GameCube version of the original Resident Evil will indeed be a remake, as evidenced by the early screenshots and videos from the game.
"The three titles will be ports," Mikami said. "If we remake them, it will take a while until [Resident Evil] 4 will be released. I'm sure the users are eagerly awaiting Resident Evil 4, so please bear with the ports."
He also added that Capcom plans to release Resident Evil 0 less than a year after the release of the first game on the GameCube, which is currently slated for spring 2002 in Japan. Resident Evil 0 will initially take place inside a train, and it will also include several situations where players can swap characters.
GameSpot will have more on all the Resident Evil games for the GameCube, including the remake of the original Resident Evil, as it becomes available.

I told you what capcom are like, didn't I :)
So only the original is to be remade on the gamecube along with four and zero, rumors are around about a PS2 release but i doubt it.

Oh and do you have MSN?????

Capcom themselves have said that only the first game will have any major improvements. What more proof do you need that the others will be straight ports with minor graphical changes?
Personally, though I love the look of the re-vamped original, I'd rather that Capcom put all their effort into RE0 and RE4 and didn't bother with 2 and 3 at all.
Still, with just small graphical touches and FMV sequences, they should only take a few months to make.
So it looks to break the records.
You thought that a new Fifa every 6 months was stupid?
Well now we'll be getting a new Resident Evil game every 3 months. What do you think to that then? :-D

They won't change

Not a bad idea really oh and why do Capcom bother Eternal Darkness will trounce them anyway.
This is the reason I am questioning whever to get a GAMECUBE, I am worried that there will be a severe lack of FPS games released other than Metroid and After Dark.
Hopefully there is more too come but at the moment it isn't looking good for my console based games playing. Especially since i am getting broadband soon. In other words I will be glued to the net playing all of the wonderful FPS I own on it.
