Overpopulation.

It's wonderful: Let's all go and fight and kill over land, let's enslave each other so we can have the priviledge of owning the roof over our heads. Let's work ourselves to death for our ungrateful children, who in our arrogance we think may somehow continue us after we're gone even though as each generaton goes by our DNA becomes more and more diluted and all the heartache and misery simply wasn't worth it.

Let's stand idly by as our governments practice legalised thievery and 'land grabs' in the name of democracy. Let's watch the youth of today look at what's instore for them in the future and decide they'd rather go on the dole and actually live some form of a life rather than being some multinational's lapdog for the best parts of their life.

Let's settle with only being able to really live 1 or 2 days of a 7 day week because that's just the way things work. Yes let's just settle for all of that shall we?

Let's sit there watching Deal or No Deal like a bunch of idiots, let's waste our few free hours of the day watching soap operas and reality tv shows.

This is what you allow.

Let's settle for a society of little substance where you don't know your neighbour and everythings compressed into a neat little soundbite. Let's put our own nationality above all others because... no seriously why? Are we 'better' somehow? If no British people die in a coach crash does that suddenly make it NOT worthy of news? Are those people's lives any less significant?

What are we upholding? Our right to get massively in debt by wanting to actually educate ourselves beyond mouthbreathing? Our right to be enslaved to pay for bricks and mortar? Our right to be completely ignored
by a system we can 'apparently' change that is backed up by the never changing civil service?

And then we wonder why people aren't happy. Why can't they accept that we should raise high our idiots and shower them with album and book deals? Is it a self-parody? Are people subconsciously admitting that THEY are the idiots? Surely entertaiment shouldn't have to be in-depth? and it makes a change from people getting blown yup by roadside bombs defending something that no longer really exists in any meaningful form.

This is what you swALLOW.

You wouldn't happen to be a 15 year old male who just read The Communist Manifesto would you?

It's alright, we've all been there.

I just laugh at the ego-centric western view of the first post, and within that the seemingly naive view that everyone seems to be an overworked ant, living in the city and caring more about work than their social life or family.

Society is made up of individual people, those same individual people have (some) freedom to choose what they do or watch. They have option to inspire and to change lives and yet they choose not to. Who is to blame? The Man? Nope, the individual.

Everything seems so black and white to some people. Well, the world doesn't work like that, sonny.

I do tire of pointing out the irony of raging against the machine via the internet.

Yes, let's enact change.
Yes, let's blame government for the failings of democracy.
Yes, let's shower scorn on the world of economics.
Yes, let's shake an angry fist at the failing financial reality of a world where too many people are living too long.
Yes, let's shout and scream about the excessive resultant debts while simultaneously demanding that our children not be made to uphold our burdenous greed for life.
Yes, let's get angry.
Yes.

Now go pay your broadband and electricity bills like a good little consumer and continue your self-implosion.
