Irvine fastest!!!!! Whats going on? Jaguar were fastest in the Monza test last week. Could it be that Jaguar are finally getting somewhere?
Motoya for pole looks quite good, but you can never discount M Schuey.
Discuss.
It's rumoured Jordan will have that Japanese driver, to keep Honda sweet.
The latest rumours in the Formula One paddock are linking Prost driver and Formula One veteran, Jean Alesi, to the Jordan team as a replacement for the recently dismissed Heinz-Harald Frentzen. Apparently, Jordan have been in contact with Alesi about replacing the German for the remainder of the 2001 season as well as a drive for the 2002 season, starting with round thirteen at Hungary.
Although Alesi is under contract with the Prost outfit, reports indicate that due to financial problems, the Frenchman hasn't been paid for his services, which now include three points finishes this season. When questioned after this afternoon's German Grand Prix, Alesi was too busy celebrating his sixth placed finish and revealed very little about what was going on between himself and Jordan.
However, he did indicate that there would be something to say in the near future and with a three week break before Hungary, fans won't have to wait too long to see if Frentzen's seat is rapidly filled by the Frenchman.

So who would fill Alesi's seat at Prost? Frentzen? I doubt it, he's far too good to go to Prost. But it would appear that it's his only option. Most of the teams are confirmed for next year. Ferrari, McLaren, Williams, Sauber, BAR, Benneton, Arrows. There's now top team Frentzen could go to. Maybe Toyota but apparently that's already been dismissed.
Still I made some money on the race.
11:1 that Montoya would get pole!! Shame I only put £1 on really. I got 6:1 that Ralk would win the race, so I won £17 over the weekend, which isn't bad.
> A Williams win it. Mark my words! Speed on the straights you see.
I said a Williams would win!
> Minardi will win the next grand prix.
{:)
I hope Ferrari will
> win (I don't mind, Schumacher or Barrichello,) and if not them, I'd

Next season it will be between
> Ferrari, Williams and Mclaren-definitely.
And Minardi.
I just read this topic through thoroughly and I say Ant's contribution.... Ant, come on! This is a serious discussion, Minardi don't have a chance of winning a GP this year unless the other 20 cars fall out and they somehow keep going, though I wouldn't mind seeing Minardi getting a world championship point. It'd be good to see all of the teams get something on the scoreboard, it's just I can't seeing that happen at either Hockenheim, Spa or Monza.
Normally drivers go on their full set up on the final practice session and choose the tyres then (or that's what I've been told anyway)
Irvine might have been putting on a fast lap with a full qualifying set up.
