He was supposed to have died in September 13th 1996 when he was in Las Vegas and got shot 7 times.

I've seen pretty convincing morgue pictures that say he is most certainly dead.
I wouldn't say that - [URL]http://www.gamesfirst.com/articles/undertow/08-31-98.html[/URL] details Avault being hoaxed by reports of John Romeros death - the morgue photo looks convincing but is in fact a mock up done for a newspaper article. Mind you, given Daikatana, he may well have been flatlining. As for Tupac, well, there's no better way of boosting your own record sales than faking your own death. Thus ensuring people who never would have bought one of his records if he was alive start hoarding them in order to 'NEvaR forgEt'.
