Nintendo Forum: Gamecube Vote
Okay, after the highly successful "Top 5 Cube Games" thread, I thought it should be time that we could get a tally, and an overall say on which is the most preferred game of those that post here on the Nintendo Forum. So therefore I thought we could vote and then add up the scores under certain categories. So:
Best Gamecube Title:
Vote for your five favourite 'Cube games in order.
The game you award:
1st Place will get 5 pts.
2nd Place will get 4 pts.
3rd Place will get 3 pts.
4th Place will get 2 pts.
5th Place will get 1 pt.
Best GBA Title:
Vote for your favourite three GBA games in order.
The game you award:
1st Place will get 3 pts.
2nd Place will get 2 pts.
3rd Place will get 1 pt.
Best Multiplayer Title:
Vote for your three favourite multiplayer Cube/GBA games in order.
The game you award:
1st Place will get 3 pts.
2nd Place will get 2 pts.
3rd Place will get 1 pt.
I will then gage the winner of each category based on the amount of points each one receives. You don't have to say why you chose certain games, unless you want to of course. I will then come up with the definitive list after large amounts of people have submitted.

While those are all good (except for Pac Man, which I haven't played and so cannot judge), they just can't compare (in my opinion) to TimeSplitters 2.
Smash Brothers lacks that certain quality, that I can't quite put my finger on, that means it's accessable to anyone. I can play it for hours on end with my mates who own the game, but if I'm playing it with people who don't own a GameCube, it's lucky to last ten minutes or even get played.
Monkey Ball does have that "X" factor that appeals to everyone, but as Monkey Target is the only one really worth playing a lot, it gets dull after a while.
Double Dash!! is superb in co-op mode - I don't think anyone can dispute that. Very playable and competitive, and certainly holds up against TS2. However, it doesn't last forever and while the multiplayer solo-racing just isn't that fun and the Battle Mode is best steered-clear of due to the lacklustre arena design, it doesn't offer as much as TS2 does.
Anyone can play TS2. The controls are beautifully designed and modes such as conventional deathmatch, virus, tag, team deathmatch, etc offer hours of extended play. It's my most played multiplayer game by far, and beats anything else available on the Cube. The rest are very good, but this is great.

I played a demo of Timesplitters 2 when it was first released and that was enough for me because I really didn't like it at all, especially the controls.
