Is it certain roles you have to play like a hero that saves the earth or a manager of a well known football club?
Is it you liked the prequel to it and hope this one will live up to the high standards?
Is it the price, are you captued by bargains and don't mind what the game is like, so long as you got it cheap?
Have you read reviews about it and have decided it looks good and you want to buy it?
There are many reasons for purchases, what are yours?
If you want you can name the game you are talking about such as, "i preorded GTA San Andreas because it looks like it will have inproved greatly on Vice city and looks like a game that will turn out to be a must buy."

Reviews do sway me towards a decision because they can be very persuading ,they make you think that a game is good or not.
I buy sequels because if i already have the prequel then i liked it (or i would not still have it) and a sequel always 'sounds' like it is going to be better than the previous installment.
Any of the above will get my interest.

Yea of course I read reviews too but I don't really let them make decisions for me, I read the review to see what type of game it is and to see if it has any interesting features, but I don't take too much notice of the final score.
Splinter Cell recieved 10/10 recently but I'd never think of buying it because I hate the stealth genre, Destruction Derby Arenas got 35% but I still bought it because I find it to be a really fun game. It's not as good as Destruction Derby 2 mind, but still, so long as it's fun I'll play it.

Heh, GTA and Final Fantasy games at the top of your list?

Well yeah, genre does make an effect, but i only read the review if the game looks good anyway. So i only look at the games that i feel might be good.

As was i until i found that i couldnt get broadband, i played the demo and frankly i hate it when they try to make it more than it is, theyve added all sorts of crap to the destruction bowl, when they didnt need to.

It's basically the same as the other Destruction Derby games; you drive around tracks or bowls trying to gain points by knocking your opponents sensless. I've always been a fan of the Destruction Derby series though so other people may not like it as much, I've written a review of it so if you click on my stats you should be able to read it.
