"PS2, is it all it's cracked up to be? Or are we being ripped off?"

On the 24th November, 2000, SCEE officially released the PS2. There was a mad rush to get your hands on one of these £400 machines, a few of these £50 games, £30 each on three of these controllers, £35 on one of these multi-taps, £30 each on two memory-cards.
Internet will be available soon on the PS2, it would want to be, considering I've already forked out £670, but wait, there's another £200 to be paid for a harddrive. That's £870.
I don't know about you, but I'm gonna start savin' my pocket-money!!!

It's ok saying that X box is £300 but thats what most of us paid for PS2 anyway so thats not a bad point for X box really. Even with my recent doubts about PS2 ( see "losing The games" topic on forum ) i don't think that Ps2 is bad value.

don't get me wrong here, i love my ps2 to bits, and zoe(unfortunetly i dont have the money to buy many games), but these figures are what i paid, but ps2 could have made things cheaper, or even put in 4 controller ports instead of making us pay £30-£35 for a multitap

I'm happy with mine now and if anyone think's it's a rip off, how about the £300 xbox? seriously someone would really have to talk me into paying £20 for one of these.

I'd rather have a PS2 game.

I don't know about you guys, but I think £270 is a really good price for a extremely high-quality DVD player that plays PS2 games and PSOne games.

Content? Hell yes.

Yikes ! Sounds like N.I is a right rip off place for PS2.

the thing is i live in ireland (republic!) so it's dearer here, and i hadnt heard of special-reserve then! that's the prices in the shops here, take a penny or five, except some games are only 45 (£44.99/£44.95), and i only paid 379.99 for the console, i just rounded it to 400!!!!! i still think thats a lot of money!!

it isnt 400 quid u can get it cheaper i think its a good deal u get alot init im getting one when ive got anough money (ok i kind of went back on my self and iknow)
