People are asking if MGS2 will live up to the hype...

I hope so, but it is very unclear as to how long the game will be and whether or not the scenarios changes from just running around a boat.
Also, there are other things that need to be improved, for example in the demo if I alert the guards, run down stairs then back up again they are reset. not very impressed with that one.
Also, dead people come back again once I move between levels and that's a bad bit of detail that's been missed.
It really defeats the purpose of hiding bodies and thus ruins one of the best points.

This might seem like being picky but I'd much rather see guards and game-rules being a lot more realistic instead of being able to shoot ice cubes.

The demo was by no means perfect but compared to a lot of PC demo's it was v.good. As a few others have already said, a demo is not a finished game so the final one will be better. For me, if I ever doubt MGS2 being worht the wait, there is only one remedy.

Put the sound up, draw the curtains, and put the demo in the PS2 and play it again. Works everytime. I noiced in OPSM2 #9 the creator of the game is still not giving anything away as to other locations but even from he demo it's clar Snake has to get off the ship, which is only a starting location, once he has found the Metal Gear or whatever it is onboard the ship.

Remember that this is only a game. Some things that people want are difficult to include as there are a limit to what you can include. The developers put what is planned in it, they sometimes don't think of the same things that we would think off. That is why sequals are so popular, developers can make changes that people want.

I believe after the boat bit of the game you move onto to New York city - Thats all Ive heard about it, they are keeping under close wraps untill its released!!
As for shooting ice cubes - Dont you find its actually more enjoyable than most games out on the market!! I hope they keep this level of detail, its not important and doesnt change the game itself but adds to the atmosphere!!

Seeing as there are approx. 5 months before the game is released (so still a lot of development there then) onto the market, don't you think that the programmers are working on this.

Also bear in mind that the demo was released with ZOE (some help here on the release date would be great because I haven't got a clue) and that was say 2 month ago? That equals 7 months of development....some companies can knock out 3 or 4 games in that time so I think you should stop moaning and wait until the game turns up on your doorstep and take it from there!!

This is quite true, what also needs to be considered is that guards are human, so shift changes would come into play!! If you wiped out a set of guards, the next shift would notice when they turned up, and if a ship is set to alert when they discover your presence, it is very unlikely that it would just turn back to normal, oh wait a minute, that's why on the hardest difficulty setting, this happens!! Right now I get it!!!
