Just found out that the XBox version of Doom3 wont get released until 2005. Why such a long delay? I thought the XBox was a PC, and therefore could have games "ported" over from PC very quickly - at least thats what they told us when XBox was launched.

There's the matter of Live tweaking - including online co-op - a feature not possible on the PC version.

No matter, for Xbox gaming, Halo 2 will be my FPS of choice for a long time to come.

The screenshots for D3 on XBOX look inferior to the kind of quality the PC presents.

You don't know what you're gonna be missing.

But, PC owners will miss out on online co-op.

Unless someone does a mod or something.

Which is really, really quite probable.

Probable, but may not be possible.

They'd have to figure out how to play the Single Player game, over the internet, with more than one person.

They'd have to be pretty damn good to crack that one.

Who knows though - the developers might release an official co-op mod shortly after the Xbox release.

It was also originally schduled to be released around Halo 2's release date.

If that had happened they may as well have flushed their advertising budget down the toilet.

Who cares? I mean, it looks great, but it's pretty dated, compared to the likes of Halo 2.

Which someone already has.

EDIT: Besides I don't see how co-op can work in Doom 3 considering how small the levels are, it's not exactly been designed to have three other players running around.
