I'm doing an essay for uni. I need an example to back this quote up.

“Staged events that catch public attention, provoke discussion, and thus crystallize unstructured public opinion” (Labaree, Benjamin Woods, 1966)

basically I need an example of when a large organisation puts on an event to look public-friendly, I just can't think of any.

I'm sure there are loads, though.

Help, please?

How about things like the Sony Playstation event they had in London, where you could go down and play the games?

Or Stella Artios's Stella Screen promotions, in which they put on movies in various locations, for free. The public get to see a movie in an interesting location, they have a good time, and Stella and the movie get a good reputation.

Examples of these would be Highlander in a Scottish castle. Jaws on Brighton beach, Apocalypse Now in Duxford Imperial War Museum
