I can't really think of a comment for this. It's just stupid, even if they were drunk. And even if it was in self defense as he claims, it's still almost impossible to unintentionally kill a friend like that. Maybe an enemy, but not a friend, and then to cut up his body afterwards. Urgh.

A hammer in the kitchen?
And I realise there may be PLENTY of hypothetical reasons why there might be a hammer in his kitchen, but who generally keeps hammers in kitchen?
He didn't 'cut him up' in defence, when he was drunk the 'best' way to hide his body was to cut him up. So he did.
