They've probably seen you and added the most powerful spell checker in the world into your package. Just uncheck it.

She only wants to pay £400 AND get a flat TFT monitor.

So a £300 budget is all i got for the base.

But should be abel to get

3.0 Ghz
512 RAM
80 SATA
128MB ATI Radeon® X300 SE

She only wants if for net and those age of empire type games.

Should them kind of games run ok on this spec pc?

For Dial-up you'll need a modem, make sure the system you specify lists an "Integrated 56K Data/Fax Modem".

On most of the 5150's for home use this comes as standard. I've bought a couple of DELL 9100 machines lately and noticed these don't always come with modems, so check.

DELL do now seem to provide a 10/100 Network Card as standard which is good, as they realise most people will want to network and use a router etc. But you won't need a network card anyway if you are only using a dial up connection, just the modem option above.

NB. The 5150's are good machines, but I've noticed that if you upgrade a few bits and bobs when ordering it often works out slightly cheaper going for a 9150 which normally has a better specification as standard...

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Excellent support service!
I have always found the support staff to provide an excellent service on every occasion I've called.
