I just got my new DVD-RW drive and wnat to get some DVD-Rs to write stuff to. Im looking on Ebuyer now and they aren't as expensive as I though, I just want to know whether im looking at the right thing.

What is the difference between 16x and 8x and what else should I look for before buying my discs?

Does the company change anything? Because there is a Sony 50 pack for £15 and some other company 50 pack for £8.

How can I tell what speeds my DVD-RW supports?

The different speeds show the writing speeds that the disc supports, the higher the speed the faster your disc will be burnt (assuming your writer supports the speed). The manufacturer of the disc matters a hell of a lot, i don't buy a dvd-r unless it uses ritek dye.
