My PC was infected with a "dialer," one of those things that gives you premium phone charges without you knowing. Well, I've got rid of it using Microsoft Antispyware. I am using a wireless router and I am not directly connected with it. The dialer was found only on one of the PCs. I was worried about phone bills, but my brother says that it will not affect it, because it's only on the PC and cannot affect the router and we are only configured to connect to BT Broadband. I am not so sure. Could someone confirm this?
Cheers
I only ask because I have the same problem.
And I have tried at least five different programs already, but not one of them seems able to pick it up - despite one finding ELEVEN trojan horse files inside one folder!!
I am at a loss here. As many have suggested, I would simply format the PC and start over. Trouble is, we don't have any of the original software for it. :P
I have managed to block the home-page change from happening and remove it's list from my Trusted Sites but it still disconnects me after about an hour to try and get me to connect to something else...
Hopefully, you know something about this I don't! :S
