#1 - Don't use plastic containers in the microwave.

#2 - After replacing melted container with ceramic plate, do NOT introduce cold water from the tap directly onto burning plate after removing it from the microwave.



(despite this, my jacket potatoe was cooked to perfection and my dinner was very nice, regardless of my scorched thumbs)

Ah student life..I share your pain.

You can you plastic containers if they're labelled as being able to be used in microwaves.

You can also use tin foil if it's marked as being usable in the microwave. ;)

and cats or babies.

Or fireworks. I've just seen what they can do.

#3 - Do not write out post-it note reading "Please turn this microwave on, about ten minutes should do it" and attach to door of microwave, then climb inside said microwave, shut the door and wait.

I made a feast last night.

Garlic buttery fried chicken, boiled new potatoes and some carrots/peas.
That means I can just eat beans on toast all week and not look totally sad.
